Codes and Conventions of Print Adverts

Today in Media, we looked at the codes and conventions of Print Adverts;

  • One main image that catches the eye and attention of the audience
  • Logo is on the right hand side or in the middle
  • Channel 4 sign should be 3D not solid
  • Central image should sum up the documentary
  • Title has a box behind it and covers half of the image. It stands out and is always on the left hand side
  • Contains the scheduling
  • Either portrait or landscape
  • Words are kept to the bare minimum as to not draw attention away from the main image
  • Positioning is catchy and links to the documentary as to catch the audiences attention
