Codes and Conventions of Interviews

• Interviewee on either the left or right of the screen.
• Uses Chromakey or Green Screen to superimpose images onto the background.
• The Graphics are White, Sans Serif and are postioned on either the left or right of the screen.
• Usually Medium Close Up, Close up or Mid shot.
• Interviewee always on the oppostie side to the camera and always looking at the interviewer never the camera.
• The voiceover is usually young and speaks standard english.
• The interviewee's eyeline is in the top thrid of the screen.
• No source of light behind the interviewee.
• Questions are edited out.
• Cutaways are used to break up the interviews and avoid jump cuts.
